Java Developer (A)

Tasks

• Design, develop, and enhance robust distributed systems with a focus on scalability, reliability, latency, and fault tolerance
• Apply distributed systems principles such as consistency models, idempotency, resiliency patterns, and back-pressure mechanisms
• Develop and maintain high-performance backend services and APIs using Java, Spring Framework, and Spring Boot
• Optimise application performance, asynchronous processing, and efficient I/O operations
• Conduct profiling, benchmarking, and load testing to identify and eliminate performance bottlenecks
• Integrate financial platforms and third-party applications while ensuring data integrity and operational stability
• Design and implement messaging and integration solutions using JPA, JDBC, JMS, and event-driven architectures
• Ensure high code quality through code reviews, automated testing, and CI/CD best practices
• Apply financial-grade engineering standards, including auditability, security, and controlled change management
• Collaborate closely with business stakeholders, product managers, and development teams across international locations

Requirements

• Completed degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field
• Extensive experience with Java (Core Java, Collections, JSON, JDBC)
• Strong expertise in Spring Framework and Spring Boot
• Proven experience designing and operating distributed systems, microservices, and event-driven architectures
• Strong understanding of low-latency, high-availability backend systems
• Experience with JPA, JDBC, relational databases, and JMS messaging systems
• Solid knowledge of Unix/Linux environments and Bash scripting
• Experience with OAuth2, API security concepts, and Identity & Access Management (IAM)
• Hands-on experience with cloud technologies, preferably Microsoft Azure
• Knowledge of containerisation technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes
• Experience working with CI/CD pipelines and modern DevOps practices
• Previous experience within the financial services industry is considered an advantage
• Ability to work effectively with globally distributed teams
• Fluent English language skills (written and spoken)
